Did you know that Coorg\u2019s famous coffee plantations originate from a smuggling story. In the late seventeenth century, an Indian Muslim saint by the name of Baba Budan smuggled seven coffee beans from Yemen and planted them on the hills of Chikmagalur near Coorg. These hilly areas were so conducive to the growth of coffee, that it rapidly spread all over Coorg, giving birth to the highest coffee producing region in India. Today, Coorg is well-known for its beautiful landscapes, greenery, elephants and of course its native coffee plantations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Currently, Coorg forms one of India\u2019s largest producers of coffee thus significantly contributing to the country\u2019s overall production output level. The smell was so fragrant; its intense flavour made it famous throughout the world especially among people who love drinking good coffees.<\/p>\n\n\n
