The best food in Varanasi is eaten early and outdoors. Start with\u00a0kachori sabzi and jalebi<\/strong>\u00a0(Thatheri Bazaar or Kachori Gali) and a thick\u00a0lassi<\/strong>\u00a0(Blue Lassi, Kachori Gali). Have\u00a0tamatar chaat<\/strong>\u00a0at Kashi Chat Bhandar on Godowlia Road in the afternoon, and\u00a0chooda matar<\/strong>\u00a0near Dashashwamedh Ghat. In winter, add\u00a0malaiyyo<\/strong>, which is sold only in the morning and only from about mid-November to early March. Where you stay decides how much of it you can reach on foot, and some stays do not allow non-vegetarian food, so check before you book.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
