It’s July, and Dudhsagar is at full, thundering flow \u2014 the “Sea of Milk” you’ve seen in every Goa reel. So you look up the famous jeep safari from Collem, or the railway-track walk from\u00a0Chennai Express, and hit a wall: right now, in the monsoon,\u00a0both are closed. The jeep safari is suspended, and walking the tracks is banned and policed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Almost every “how to reach Dudhsagar” article forgets to mention this. So here’s the honest version: what’s open, what’s off-limits, and the one safe, legal way to actually see the falls at their most spectacular \u2014 from a passing train. We’ll cover which train, which side to sit, the exact timings, and where to base yourself in South Goa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the 2026 monsoon (Jul\u2013Sep), Goa’s Forest Department has suspended the Dudhsagar jeep safari (as it does every year, from around mid-June until after October), and walking the railway tracks to the falls is banned by the railways. The only safe, legal way to see Dudhsagar at full monsoon roar is\u00a0from a passing train\u00a0on the Vasco da Gama\u2013Castle Rock line \u2014 sit on the\u00a0right side\u00a0heading toward Castle Rock. At about\u00a0310 m (1,017 ft), it’s among India’s tallest falls (roughly 5th) and the tallest you can watch from a train. Nearest stations: Kulem\/Collem (~10 km) and Castle Rock.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
