The South Raigad coast is a two-day loop from Mumbai through\u00a0Diveagar<\/strong>\u00a0(a long beach and the Suvarna Ganesh temple),\u00a0Shrivardhan<\/strong>\u00a0(a quiet beach and sunset) and\u00a0Murud<\/strong>\u00a0(a long beach, the Ahmedganj Palace and the Murud-Janjira sea fort). It is about 175 km each way to the south end and works year-round, but\u00a0the fort’s boat service is normally suspended in the monsoon<\/strong>, and the sea is unsafe to swim in at that time. For a base,\u00a0Bricks and Tides<\/a>\u00a0sits on Aravi Beach in Shrivardhan, and\u00a0Casa Bella<\/a>\u00a0in Kashid is the natural stop on the way back.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The South Raigad coast is one of the quieter stretches of the Konkan, close enough to Mumbai for a long weekend and far enough south that the crowds are thinner than at Alibaug.
