Ganesh Chaturthi in Konkan falls on Monday, 14 September 2026<\/strong>, with the final visarjan on Anant Chaturdashi, Friday, 25 September 2026<\/strong>. Most Mumbai families travel out between 11 and 13 September, which is why Central Railway is running 246 Ganpati special services and Konkan Railway 254 between 11 and 27 September. Every September, Mumbai does something no other Indian city quite does: it empties itself southwards. The idol comes to your<\/em> house, the ganapati pooja<\/em> is performed by your own family, and the aarti is sung by cousins you last saw at a wedding.
