February and March are the shoulder of the year, when winter fades and the heat has not yet arrived, so the right villa depends on where you go. In the hills and the north (Manali, Mussoorie, Coonoor, Udaipur, Jaipur, Delhi NCR), mornings and evenings are still cool, so look for a heater and a bonfire area. In the south and on the coast (Goa, Coorg, Alleppey), days are already warm, so look for a pool and a shaded deck. February and March are some of the easiest months to travel in India. The weather is mild in much of the country, the monsoon is far away, and the heat of May has not started. The catch is that the two months feel different in different regions, and a villa that suits Manali in February would be wrong for Alleppey in March. The north and the hills. February is still cold, with cool evenings in Rajasthan and Delhi NCR, cold mornings in Coonoor and cold days in Manali and Mussoorie, where snow is possible. March is milder, with the plains warming up through the month. What to prioritise: a heater, a bonfire area, warm common spaces, and a heated pool where the villa has one.
The south and the coast. Goa, Coorg and Alleppey are dry and warm in both months, and March is hotter. What to prioritise: a private pool, a gazebo or shaded deck, and air conditioning where the villa lists it.
Festivals and crowds. Holi usually falls in March, and popular places such as Jaipur and Udaipur can be busy around it; the exact date changes each year. School holidays and long weekends also fill hill towns. Check availability early for the dates you want.

3. Goa
By season: February is the tail of the peak season, warm and busy, and March is hotter and quieter. Pools matter more than anything else, and so does shade.

By season: Still cold in February, with snow possible, and thawing through March. High passes and some roads in the region are usually closed or restricted at this time of year, so check road status before you plan any drive [VERIFY: current road status for your dates]. 10. Mussoorie
By season: Cold in February, with occasional snowfall possible, and milder in March. Landslide risk is low compared with the monsoon, but check road status in winter weather. A heater and a bonfire are the priorities.
